Can The Middle East Achieve Peace?
The Middle East has been in constant turmoil, and the one country they seem to all want gone is Israel. Israel is one tiny blip on the scale, and yet it has become one of the largest targets in that given area. Of course, they believe themselves to be the chosen people. But they are also one of the smallest countries in the area, and it’s not only the Palestinians that don’t get along with them. They are just the best known group not to like the Israelis.
Of course, there are good things and bad things about any culture or any group. But to some, it seems like they may even egg their opposers on. Any one of those countries would group with others to smash them, and some would love to do it on their own. But why is it that they are so confident? Why is it that they don’t seem to care about peace when it comes right down to it?
For one thing, they are a chihuahua with a mastiff behind them. It sounds bad. But when it comes right down to it, you will find that they are an extremely small country surrounded by a bunch of other dogs who hate them, big or small. But the United States for years has backed them over the Palestinians or any other Middle Eastern country. While there are many private bombers who attack them, and Israelis are just as guilty as anyone else of having private bombers, countries as a whole do not dare go up against a much larger country and army, especially by themselves.
Second, they believe that God is behind them. After all, why not? They have been known as the chosen people. And you will find that their theory has been proven time and time again. Every time the US backs them, they are saved and they seem to be above the attacks of other countries, even if they are obviously not doing it on their own. So instead of worrying about security, they worry about making money, building businesses, taunting their neighbors in the case of some more confident Israelis. So the good life that they believe themselves to be entitled to is very real.
All in all, you will find that for Israelis, there is no immediate threat. Yes, they have the occasional suicide bomber, and it’s tragic. But you will find that they are also restricting their neighbors, fighting with their neighbors, and causing problems for their neighbors. They feel that they are in no danger of seeing a serious threat any time in the near future. And clearly, they know that somebody has their back at the very least.
