Renting is becoming the new owning. Just last year, the number of Americans who rent homes rose to 34%.

Renting has its perks. It gives you more flexibility, less liability, and in the long run it can be more affordable. But renting can also be a major nuisance.

Whether you are a renter by choice or by necessity, here are some tips to help you enjoy the experience or survive it.

1. Explore Your Options

The biggest obstacle is finding a place. You need one in ideal location, that meets your requirements for appearance, and that fits within your budget. More and more, landlords are putting their listings on the internet. One of the most popular sites, <a style="color:blue; text-decoration:underline;"href="http://www.rentalads.com/">RentalAds.com, is a rental property website with thousands of rental choices.

Listings can go quickly or they may be misleading, so it’s a good idea to keep a few options in mind. Visiting your place of interest before signing the lease is the best way to avoid surprises. If visiting isn’t an option, look for listings that have several pictures and detailed information.

2. Protect Your Security Deposit

Security deposits protect the landlord when a renter causes damage or skips payments. If you make all your payments and take care of the place, you are entitled to get the security deposit back. But that doesn’t mean you actually will get it back.

The best way to protect your security deposit is to take pictures or videos of the place when you move in. Document any repairs, upgrades or changes that take place during your residency. At the end of your lease, insist that the landlord does a walk-through with you. If there is a dispute, you can use your documentation to avoid being charged unfairly.

3. Know Your Rights

Before you sign the lease, read through it carefully! It may have stipulations that you don’t agree with; for example, restrictions on guests, eviction terms, pets, the landlord’s right to enter, etc… Once you sign the lease, you must follow any reasonable stipulations or you can get evicted.

The lease also spells out your rights as a renter. Know what they are and don’t give them up. For example, if your landlord is responsible for doing repairs, you can request or demand that they make repairs in a timely manner.

4. Buy Renters Insurance

Your landlord has an insurance policy, but it does not cover your personal losses. Protect your property from theft or damage by taking out renters insurance. A $50,000 policy will typically cost around $350 a year. If you don’t need that much coverage, you can usually find a smaller policy.

5. Save on Utilities

If the responsibility for paying utilities falls on you, there are a couple ways you can save money. Lighting is the first place to start. Replace the light bulbs you use the most with energy-efficient ones. These last longer and they take less energy.

Install a thermostat that allows you to set air conditioning and heating programs. Keep the room temperature between 72-78 degrees and avoid altering it more than 4 degrees at a time. <a style="color:blue; text-decoration:underline;"href="http://www.energysavers.gov/tips/heating_cooling.cfm">Click here for more tips on how to conserve energy and save money.

Renting: You Can Do It!

Renting is becoming more popular, but it isn’t becoming any easier. Landlords and roommates can be difficult to live and deal with. Rules are restricting and can make life difficult. If renting is your only option, following these tips can help you can survive it. If you rent because you love it, following these tips can make your experience that much better.

Bad habits can quickly lead to an unhealthy lifestyle that will leave you feeling sluggish and irritable.

Unhealthy choices can also contribute to many health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes and obesity. By changing a few simple habits, you can lead a healthy lifestyle that gives you energy, a youthful appearance and a great body.

Balanced Diet

A balanced diet will provide all of the vitamins and nutrients necessary to keep your body running smoothly. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, and try to vary the colors of the fresh produce you eat. By eating several colors of produce, you will get an even better assortment of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Imagine creating a rainbow on your plate, and you will be eating exactly what you need.

Whole grain breads and pastas are the best choice when it comes to grains. They are less refined, which means that they retain more of their vitamins and nutrients. Whole grains also contain more fiber, which can help regulate blood sugar levels, lower cholesterol and keep the digestive system running smoothly. Fiber will also help you stay satisfied by making you feel full longer.

Eat lean protein a few times a day to keep your energy levels up and satisfy your hunger. Eggs, chicken, turkey and fish are excellent ways to get protein without consuming too much fat. Use spices, herbs and seasonings to flavor low fat meats for delicious and satisfying meals.

You can also take a supplement to get extra amino acids. <a style=”color:blue; text-decoration:underline;” href=www.africanmango.org>African mango extract is a natural supplement that provides amino acids for a healthy lifestyle.

Exercise

Exercise is an essential aspect of healthy living. A regular exercise routine improves cardiovascular health and can reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke. It also boosts your metabolism so that your body can efficiently turn food into energy. Try to exercise at least thirty minutes three times a week. If you are trying to lose weight or get in shape, then you will need to exercise more frequently.

Aerobic exercise is a great way to improve your mood, shed pounds and get healthy. The activities don’t need to be rigorous, but they do need to get your heart pumping. Aerobic exercise strengthens your muscles and revs up your metabolism. It also releases endorphins so that you feel happier and more energetic all day long.

Weight training is a very important part of staying healthy. By lifting light or moderately heavy weights, you not only build muscle but also strengthen your bones. This will help fend off osteoporosis as you get older. As an added benefit, lifting weights will encourage your metabolism to work more efficiently so that you no longer hold on to those extra pounds of weight.

Take a Supplement

Despite eating a well-balanced diet, it can be difficult to consume everything our bodies need to stay healthy. Take a supplement if you feel that you need an extra nutritional boost.

Aim for a supplement that is all natural, such as <a style=”color:blue; text-decoration:underline;” href=www.africanmango.org>African mango extract. Its combination of amino acids and fiber will give you the energy you need to complete daily tasks while helping you lose those stubborn unwanted pounds.

By living a healthy lifestyle, you will be able to enjoy each day more thoroughly. Be active and eat a well-rounded diet. You should also be sure to get plenty of rest, which will give your body the time it needs to recover from its daily functions.

Are you fed up with trying to lose weight and only seeing minimal results? If you are like most frustrated dieters, you are fed up with fad diets and useless weight loss tips that only waste your money.

Don’t get down on yourself – most people who have actually been successful at losing weight had days like yours when they wanted to give up on their goal. The key was that they didn’t give up. They found different things to add to their weight loss routine and tried new approaches until they were finally successful.
<img src="http://www.nicholasgrey.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/mango1.jpg" alt="" title="mango" width="228" height="221" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-247"style="float:left;margin: 0px 20px 0px 0px" />
Most of the time, people don’t lose weight effectively because their approach is missing something. Are you ready to try something new? Here are a couple weight loss ideas that you may not have thought of before.

Supplement

Most people when they think about trying to lose weight they think about exercising. While exercise is a great way to lose weight, it is not the only thing you can do. Taking a weight loss supplement can help you burn calories and suppress your appetite. Supplements are often used to increase the efficacy of people’s workouts by increasing the number of calories burned.

Taking African mango extract supplements is a huge trend that has hit the weight loss market just within the last few years. These supplements are taken to burn calories, suppress appetite, and boost metabolism.

Spice It Up

If you haven’t already noticed, most of the “low fat” or “fat free” foods that you have added to your weight loss eating plan are mostly tasteless. One way to help these foods taste better is to add spices to them. This will not add calories to your diet and will help you stop yourself from adding salt, oil, or butter to your dishes.

Spices not only improve the taste of your food, some spices can in fact help you lose weight. Capsicum and cayenne pepper are spices that are said to boost your metabolism by increasing thermogenesis. Thermogenesis is one process your body uses to burn calories.

Cinnamon is another spice that has special weight loss characteristics. Cinnamon is said to decrease blood sugar, maintain insulin levels, and increase your metabolism as well.

Another spice that can help you lose weight is ginger. Ginger has been shown to suppress appetite, aide in digestion, remove toxins from your body, and raise the temperature of your body.

Did you know that one teaspoon of ground mustard spice, according to one researcher, can actually raise your metabolism by almost 25%?

Cumin is another spice that you shouldn’t eat without. Cumin can help with digestion, energy production, and boost your immune system.

Don’t Give Up

Losing weight can be very frustrating, but is very rewarding if done successfully. Don’t be afraid to try new dishes or different weight loss supplements. You may be surprised at how quickly you see a difference in your waistline.

But your teenage daughters who look up to celebrities like Miley Cyrus who have recently switched to a gluten-free diet may try to change your mind.

Yesterday USA Today reported about a tweet that Cyrus sent out in hopes to fight off eating-disorder rumors, but will that Tweet provoke a lot of Cyrus fans to go gluten-free?

The USA Today article reported that although the boom of gluten-free foods has taken off the last few years, just because Cyrus says everyone should at least try going gluten-free doesn’t mean it’s the best advice.

And here’s why.

There are really only a few reasons for needing to go to a gluten-free diet and they have to do primarily with food allergens to gluten.

The biggest reason is if you have what is called celiac disease, an immune disorder that causes you gluten intolerance.

But unless you’ve been diagnosed, the USA Today article reported that you shouldn’t be going gluten-free even if you just think you have it.

Heather Mangieri, a registered dietitian in Pittsburgh and a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics says, “there’s nothing magical about eliminating gluten,” if you don’t have a gluten intolerance.

USA Today suggests to anyone curious about going gluten-free to not diagnose yourself with gluten intolerance and go gluten-free because if you do and then are tested for celiac disease, “it might not show up on tests once you are on a gluten-free diet,” and “you risk vitamin and mineral deficiencies if the strict diet isn’t well planned.”

So unless you have a gluten food allergy there’s really no reason to follow Cyrus and go gluten-free.

Juicing to Lose Weight: The Fad Diet that Might Work!

Have you heard of the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead? If you have, you know the weight loss power that juice fasts can have on your body. The idea behind juice fasts is that the human body requires nutrition that comes from fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately, most Americans do not get the nutrition that they need. Instead of eating spinach, carrots, celery, cucumber, or artichokes, we tend to eat frozen pizzas, potato chips, cheese, steaks, and creamy sauces. These fatty foods can hardly substitute for the wholesome nutrition that you could get from fruits and vegetables.

Because it is incredibly difficult to eat as many fruits and vegetables as you need throughout the day, juicing is a fantastic alternative. Instead of eating salads all day, you simply throw the fruits and veggies into a juicer and drink what comes out at the other end. With one glass of juice, you can easily get all of the nutrition that you need. These juices make you feel full because of the amount of water and fiber. When you cut all other foods out of your diet and only drink fruit and vegetable juice you cut many calories out of your diet.

Are Juice Fasts Safe?

There is a lot of debate about whether or not juice fasting is safe. A lot of experts claim that juice fasts are a form of starvation. If you do it right, however, juice fasting can be very beneficial to your health! You get all of the calories that you need to survive while still providing your body with nutrients that it wouldn’t otherwise have. Not only are juice fasts safe, they are also healthier than most American diets!

Juicing to Lose Weight

Since vegetables and fruits are so low in calories, juice fasts are a great way to lose weight easily. Just think: if you only ate fruits and vegetables, how much weight would you lose? Drinking a glass of natural juice will fill you up so that you don’t crave sugary or processed foods, but you also do not eat as many calories. This means that you can easily create a calorie deficit that naturally results in weight loss.

Juice fasting is a great way to lose weight, but adding top-rated diet pills to your daily routine can help you lose weight even faster. Not only will you get the benefit of fruits and vegetables, but you will also change the way that your body works so that you can burn fat all throughout the day.

How to Do It

If you are thinking about adding juicing to your daily diet, make sure to talk to a dietician to make sure that you eat the right fruits and vegetables so that you can get a correct balance of nutrients to fuel your body.

You can also look online for different juicing recipes that will help you find the best-tasting, most beneficial combinations of fruits and vegetables.

You can tell because the birds have started singing in the morning, the sun has finally come out…

…and that nagging sense of anxiety regarding that swimsuit hiding in your dresser drawer-and that winter body of yours is back.

Every year, the impending summer season brings a bit of stress for most people as they remember that summer means swimsuit season-beaches, water parks, swimming pools, etc.

While you may not have completely let yourself go this winter, you probably have grown accustomed to the full coverage of your cold weather wardrobe and are not totally comfortable with exposing your body in that bikini just yet.

Fortunately for you, we have some ways for you to get in shape for summer and to help you feel confident in that swimsuit this season! You can make a real difference in just four to eight weeks, and we can show you how you really can reach your goals.

First: What Not to Do

Almost as important as learning the steps you should take to get in shape for summer is learning what you shouldn’t do.

First of all, do not go crazy and try to lose weight too fast. A healthy amount of weight loss is one to two pounds a week. If you try to lose more than that, you will be eliminating muscle with the fat, which will make you look thinner, yes, but also flabbier because you’ll have lost muscle tone.

Do not make severe changes to your diet (e.g. slashing it by 500 calories a day or more). This will send your body into freak-out mode, sending your cravings through the roof. You will also feel extremely cranky all the time, and your metabolism will slow.

Another important thing to remember is to not go insane with your workout, especially if you are starting from scratch. You will be setting yourself up for injury, muscle strain, etc.

Time to Get in Shape

The first step on the road to your hot summer body is to really make a commitment. You will only make progress if you really commit to yourself to persevere and stick with it.

Once you have made that promise to yourself, you can begin your exercise! Professional trainers recommend doing cardiovascular workouts for 30 minutes to an hour for five days a week. Beginners should start relatively easy, making sure to simply be active every day with activities such as taking walks.

Strength workouts are also vital to getting that beach body you want-when you build muscle, you are toning your body rather than letting it jiggle all over the place. Professionals say you should do weights three days a week.

For additional help with shedding those pounds, you may want to research some weight loss pills and find one that will help complement your new healthy lifestyle. For further information on weight loss pills, click here!

As for your diet, you should keep a food diary so you can track your choices and see what time of day makes you the hungriest and most prone to eating unhealthy foods.

To cut back on calories, choose fruits and vegetables for snacks and by reducing your portions by a third.

Your Efforts Will Pay Off!

After just a month of making your diet healthier and being more active, you will notice positive changes: you will have more energy, feel better about yourself, and yes, you will look better!

You’ve spent nine months planning and waiting for that new little bundle to arrive. And, if you are like most women, you’ve also spent the last nine months planning your attack on the pregnancy pounds that have been packing on.

Now that the baby is here, it’s time to whip yourself into shape! Find out how to lose your baby fat with 6 quick and healthy ways.

1. Get Moving

After that cute little baby comes, you’re going to need some serious R & R. You don’t have to run a marathon the day after giving birth, but you can start doing some very simple exercises (like ab workouts, kegels, or just taking babe for a walk) as soon as you come home from the hospital.

When you feel a bit more recuperated and you get the go ahead from you doctor, you can resume more high intensity workouts and strength training to help you burn off the baby weight.

2. Breastfeed

If breastfeeding is the route you plan to go with your baby that could be good news for your waistline.

You actually need to eat more calories everyday if you are planning to breastfeed (about 300-500 more), but that doesn’t mean you will be adding any more weight to your body.

Each day you breastfeed you burn upwards of 800 calories! Not too bad for an activity that you can do sitting down.

3. Nap time

Nope, this isn’t just for your baby. It’s important for the mommy to get some daytime z’s too, especially since night time feedings can have you missing out on the rest you need at night.

Your body actually burns a lot of calories when you sleep, calories that are sticking with you if you aren’t getting as much as you need. Poor sleep habits can negatively affect your metabolism, so like all those well-wishers and advice-givers said over and over again, “Sleep when your baby does.”

4. Think Healthy

Even if you need extra calories for breastfeeding, you can still make sure those calories are healthy. Ditch the sodas and potato chips for lots of water, lean protein, whole grains, and fresh fruits and veggies.

Try to eat several small meals a day instead of a couple of huge meals and your body will be better able to metabolize the calories you are eating and provide you with the energy you need to keep up with your little one.

5. Grab a Buddy

It can be easy to feel overwhelmed as a new mommy. So try to get together with friends who also have kids. That way you can motivate each other to stick with your goals, and maybe even have a healthy vent session or two!

6. Diet Pills

If you are a breastfeeding momma, diet pills won’t be an option, at least not for a little while. But if not, a good diet pill like Calorie Burner 643 can help you quickly lose your baby fat and keep it off.

Calorie Burner 643 contains ingredients that can help speed up your metabolism, control your hunger, and burn off that extra baby weight.

This is the task that most aspire to and few achieve. If you are trying to lose weight or even just thinking about it, here are three weight loss tips that might help you reach your goals.

Tip 1: Gulp Water

Water is an amazing weight-loss tool. If you drink enough of it, it can help to slightly increase your metabolism to burn more calories.

Also, if you drink a full glass of water prior to any snack or meal, your stomach will be fuller before you begin eating. This means that you will eat fewer calories, which is the basis of any weight loss plan.

Tip 2: Diet Pills

Diet pills can be a fantastic aid to weight loss. They can help you to reduce your caloric intake and also increase your caloric output. Depending on the diet pill, you can significantly speed up your weight loss.

However, some diet pills don’t work as well as others. Make sure to look closely into different reviews to make sure that you find a successful diet pill like <a style="color:blue; text-decoration:underline;"href="http://weightlosspills.org/apidexin/">Apidexin that will help you achieve your weight loss goals.

Tip 3: Be Active

Those who live more active lifestyles have an easier time controlling their weight. I’m not just talking about exercise either. If you have a job that involves a lot of walking or moving things around, you will burn more calories.

You may not have a job that allows you to be physically active, but there are still ways that you can live a more active life.

How do you get to work? Do you sit in your car and drive to work and then sit at your desk for 8 hours? If you do, you might want to consider walking or biking to work if you can or parking father away from the building so that you can get exercise before and after you finish.

Also, you can get a lot of exercise by enjoying the outdoors. Hiking is one fantastic way to get exercise and also to see the beauty of the earth around you.

These three weight loss tips aren’t anything groundbreaking, but if you add them to your daily routine, you might be able to trim some calories from your daily intake.

How many hours a day do you work? My magic number is 8. For those who work more than 8 hours a day, you might want to rethink your decision and decide if the paycheck is worth your mental health.

A study conducted over six years with over 2,000 British civil servants has shown that individuals who work more than 8 hours a day are 2.5 times more likely to develop depression.

Even when how demanding each job was is taken into consideration, the number one determinant of whether or not a worker would develop depression was related to how many hours they worked each day.

Interestingly (but not surprisingly), workers who were higher up on the corporate hierarchy were less likely to develop depression, regardless of the hours they worked.

Researchers hypothesize that the reason longer work hours are a factor in depression is because of the strain that they can place on marital and other family relationships. Also, longer hours have been shown to produce greater levels of cortisol, a stress hormone.

Here is a list of the jobs that have the highest rates of depression among employees:

10. Salespeople—A lot of the time salespeople are paid on commission, meaning that they never know exactly how much they are going to bring home each paycheck.

9. Financial Advisors and Accountants—Yikes! My spouse falls into this category. Dealing with numbers and other people’s fortunes must be very stressful things to think about all day long.

8. Maintenance and Grounds Workers—When was the last time you called a maintenance or grounds worker? Was it when something was broken? Apparently the stresses of this career are very difficult.

7. Administrative Support Staff—This is one of those jobs where the lower people on the totem pole have to take all of the heat that they have no control over. This would be an incredibly stressful job.

6. Teachers—Overworked and underpaid. Not to mention dealing with wild and crazy children or teenagers all day long. This one I understand.

5. Artists, Entertainers, and Writers—Sparse paychecks, unpredictable hours, and an uncertain future. Need I say more?

4. Healthcare Workers—This would be the category that I fall into. Unsurprisingly, many healthcare workers work long hours and deal with death and illness frequently. If you don’t love your job, it would be hard to remain optimistic in this field.

3. Social Workers—Dealing with unhappy families and abused, troubled children do not make for a stress-free environment. Often, the demands placed on social workers make many of them change professions after only a few years.

2. Food Service Staff—What percent do you tip at restaurants? I usually give 15%, but only if the quality of service is amazing. Others have different answers, however, meaning that income is unpredictable. It is understandable that this job comes in at number two.

1. Nursing Home or Childcare Workers—This is a very thank-less job that demands patience and a lot of dirty work. I have worked at a nursing home, so I can definitely understand how this comes in at number 1.

If you work in one of these fields and work more than 8 hours a day, it might be time to rethink your workday!
